The market for provision of internet services is still very new and changing very rapidly. For business internet services strong brands are yet to emerge, and suppliers offer a wide range of service levels and an equally wide (but not necessarily linked) range of costs.
Protronics has always sought to work with suppliers which have quick to access, competent technical support and which concentrate on businesses with 5 to 200 staff. In practice, and to our surprise, this has meant that for internet access (broadband and leased lines) we’ve worked with one company for 8 years, and they are now part of the London Stock Exchange listed KCOM Group.
We offer a range of other internet related services including web site hosting and security services including anti-spam. The proliferation of suppliers and the absence of strong brands means that we have to consider factors beyond stability of suppliers, including support, features and price.
